Determining Historical Device Activities

Device Manager features an 'Actions List' which displays all operations (specifically, device registrations) that were historically performed on the device up until its present operational status.

The feature enables admin to determine what device activities occurred until the present time and when each occurred.

To determine device activities that occurred historically:
1. Open the Actions List (Monitor > Devices Status > Actions menu > Show Info > Actions List).

2. Use the table below as reference to the preceding figure.
Column Description

Name

Defines the name of the action | operation performed on the device. For example:

DMP_SEND
DMP_RESET
CONFIGURATION_ADD
DMP_UPDATE

Created Time

Defines the month, day, year and time (hour, minutes and seconds) the operation was performed on the device.

Description

Describes the updated status of the device following the action | operation.

Operator

Displays the name of the admin | user who triggered the action | operation on the device.

Source

Defines the device action's two-part source:

OVOC Device Manager Pro
MAC address of the device

Entity Name

Defines the name of the entity (OVOC Mgmt) from which the Actions List in Device Manager is managed.

Entity Type

Defines the type of entity (Device) on which the action | operation was performed.

3. [Optionally] Click the 'Graph View' icon

4. Determine from the graph the distribution of actions | operations that were performed on the device over a time range.
Configure the time range in OVOC's 'Journal' page (Alarms > Journal > Add Filters).
By default, Device Manager displays the Actions List for the last day (same as in OVOC).

5. [Optionally] In Graph View, use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out -OR- select a time interval; the interval is zoomed in; click Reset Zoom to restore the regular Graph View.
6. [Optionally] In Graph View, filter out a device action | operation by clicking it. Click the DMP_UPDATE action (for example); the action is struck out and its instances are removed from the graph.

7. [Optionally] Cancel the filter and restore the action's instances to the graph by clicking the struck-out filter.
